The Return of Julie - Part I
Julie's back in town and Island Needlework, her Key West retail store, is open for business. Hours are: Tues. - Fri. 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Sip & Stitch poolside with us on Thursdays 10:00 to Noon. Click on article title to check out our new look.

Yes, Island Needlework has a new look. Julia, our own Designing Woman, has redecorated...she made drapes! Returning just in time for Fantasy Fest 2006, Julie had some unexpected help in updating the appearance of her shop. These lovelies may not be here the next time you visit, so we're sharing this candid photo.

Actually, the shop looks great. Even Bogie, Julie's sporty shih tzu admires the Chinese red rocker and apple green mail bucket that now adorn the porch of Island Needlework.

Inside, Julie has re-hung the shop to accommodate her new designs and to showcase the many new fibers she will be carrying this year. One of my favorite areas is the shell wall she created to highlight her tropical shell canvases and finished pillows.

Outside we're ready for Sip & Stitch with two new tables, lots of sunshine and a new coffeemaker. If you're going to be traveling to Key West this year, try to include a Thursday morning in your stay so that you can join us around the pool from 10:00 to noon. It's a great way to share projects and meet nice people...all in an idyllic location.
